#SMWF returned to London to deliver top-level strategic advice and insight for anyone whom social is either already, or needs to be, high on the business agenda for 2014. Our very own Maz Nadjm spoke on the panel at the SMWF event along with moderator Thomas Power, Co-Founder, Scredible, James Whatley, Social Media Director, Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, and Ann Longley, Group Head of Social Media, Hays.
Other speakers from the event included Senior Social and Digital from Sony, BBC, Barclaycard, Nokia, BP, Unilever and Philips.
Here you can check out the top 5 trends for 2014 discussed by the panel and also Ann Longley’s Top ten insights from #SMWF Europe 2014.
A key point Maz focused on was the need to understand and appreciate fully the different roles that social is now covering. “It’s everything from marketing, communications to customer service. You have to look at your organisation and see how social can help beyond just communications,” he said.
And of course he spoke about Employee Advocacy! “There are individuals that are already talking about the brand in a positive way within your companies and they can be bigger social channels than the actual brand has. Look at the communication channels available to you and see if people are voluntarily or would voluntarily share their content with you – especially employees,” he said.
So another great SMWF event this year. Will be interesting to see whether these trends turn into big deals! (We certainly think so… #EmployeeAdvocacy)
