The 4 podcasts we hit subscribe to!

Audio content has never been more popular – and recent statistics predict they won’t be slowing down anytime soon with at least 20 million UK listeners expected to tune in by 2024!

So, why have they grown in demand recently? For us on a personal level, we’ve loved nothing better than putting in our headphones and hitting the ‘play’ button during our lunchtime walks.

And for social media managers and comms professionals, they’re finding that podcasts can supply their audience with a different way to consume advice and insight. Plus, audio content provides a more inclusive experience and easily digestible for individuals.

With that said, let’s dive straight in and scroll through our library to recommend some of our favourites for you right now…

1. I shouldn’t say this, but

Readers of our blog will know that we are big fans of the employee advocacy and culture-led initiatives that global agency Social Chain promotes. As part of the team’s quest to deliver messages on a worldwide scale, the brand’s managing director Katy Leeson has taken to the mic to host this particular show.

What we love about each episode is how frank and honest she is regardless of the topic she’s discussing. Whether talking about staff wellbeing or leadership struggles, if it’s relatable content you’re craving, you won’t be disappointed.

In addition, Katy interviews some big hitters in the world of marketing and comms. In particular, we love the 50-minute show with Gemma Schmid who is head of brand and communications at estate agency disruptors, Purplebricks.

2. Coaching for leaders

With more than 15 years’ of leadership under his belt, Dr Dave Stachowiak is well-qualified to not only discuss everything he’s learnt at the top, but also invites guest speakers to talk about empowering and motivating teams towards success.

Each episode is around the 40-minute mark and covers a range of topics from ‘trying too hard’ to responding to burnout.

3. Inspire Club

As we’re all about inspiring and encouraging employee advocacy throughout all businesses, this is a firm favourite when we’re searching for our next soundbite of feel-good audio content.

There’s one rule for each of these interviews too – the guest must share a story of someone who has inspired them along the way. If you’re in the mood to reflect, this is brilliant for doing just that. The show also provides top tips and advice on our attitudes and behaviours both inside and outside the workplace.

4. Build your tribe

Hosts Chalene Johnson and her son Brock bring a whole host of digital-first insight when it comes to taking your online business to the next level. They not only offer social media tips but also how to grow your email list, develop digital marketing strategies, utilise automation, and manage your comms budgets no matter how restrictive they might be.

The content is released regularly and ranges from short blasts of 15-minute snippets of advice to more in-depth discussion points with high-quality interviewees.
